MMO Tales - Origin of YOUR name

repty : Alright people . My first topic

Or whatever you call this . As you can see from the tittle , you should know what I am asking you guys . I know I posted a blog about it a long tyme ago , but now , more people has joined and I am still curious to know how you guys come up with your names and why !

So , I'll go first . Repty is taken from the word 'Reptile' . At first I used 'Repti' , then I remembered how 'i' is changed to 'y' , thus Repty !

That's my main name that I use when playing games and now , I use it for everything . I've many other nicks before Repty , so I shall just list a few out .

Leozard . Leo came from lion , as in leo = lion . Zard . Well , battleon used to be fun >D

Suddenly I forgot my other nicks ._. Never mind . So to all those reading this , answer my question . Like nao !

RussetAure : Aure is Ore + Aura. The 'ore' part makes sense in my crossbowman's IGN, EmeraldAure, which was the first 'Aure'. Why Emerald? My cleric needed emerald ore at the time

Then when I made new characters I replaced 'Emerald' with other words, and since there were only so many jewels to choose from (and I thought none were cool enough) I expanded to color words in general.

RussetAure just happened to be the one I played the most when I remade my MMOid. Russt, my SMS name, is a shortening/depotatofication of Russet and also an unintentional pun of sorts, since iron rust is in the vicinity of russet color.

In some obscure places my username is Presciere. It comes from the Latin 'praescire' which means 'to know beforehand' or something. I looked it up specifically

Fenrir : Fenrir. Merovign. Zeriuel.

First one, most commonly used, probably my first online nickname after xiaoboi or something. . .[/shifty eyes] No I'm not twit. Came from that Norse wolf god. Cloud's sexy motorcycle [okok, it IS much more cooler than Cloud, bash meh], and that it generally means something 'wolfish'. I thought wolves were cool then, so I stuck with it.

Next, came from that Matrix guy, the one with a wife that has a PWN pistol. Lol. Started using it this year, when I changed my R/L blog URL to avoid people. Also my Gunz IGN. ;D

Lastly, the rarely used Zeriuel. Named my bass with it and used for lurking in forums.

FunnyFroggy : I have a lot of nickname. I shall name them all. If you ever run into me, you'll know. I wonder how many Dest has . . .

1. FunnyFroggy

I only used this name in MMOTales. I never used it anywhere else. Why? Because I said so, you sandy beach. (Teehee.) How did I come up with that name? Well, after I first started lurking here, a few months later, I saw a post on a forum or blog involving Waffle. He was talking with Muffin along the lines of "WELL! I'll find someone else to continue my double f legacy." or something like that. Can't remember.

So, reading that, I decided to emerge and create a name with Double Fs. How I came up with 'funny' and 'froggy' is still a mystery even to me. They were probably the two words that popped into my head at the time. So yeah.

And my plan worked. I got Waffle to come to my blog.

And Muffin coincidentally too. And . . . everyone else. :/

2. AznThunderMaster

I only use this name on AIM and occasionally on other websites. I chose Azn because I'm asian and the word 'asian' just looks weird compared to 'azn'. I'm sure Knife would agree with me . . . I chose Thunder because . . . . I liek light. You will see why later. This should be name #3, but oh well. And Master 'cause you're ALL MY SLAVES! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA! . . . Kidding.

3. lightmasterZ

I used to use this name a lot. Now I use #4 a lot. My email is based on this name, as some of you know. When I was very young and stupid, I came upon a website called 'Dark and Light'. Little did I know, it was actually a forum for the game 'Dark and Light'. I was thinking to myself, "Oooh! A new game for me to play! YAY!" So I registered a name. I decided I wanted to be on the Light side so I made my name have 'light'. But I wanted to be a ruler, so in comes master. The Z was added for cooliness.

And thus lightmasterZ was born. Ayup. After searching for a while, a year later, I realized I registered on a forum. Doh! >_> The game was on a CD too I think.

4. lightcaster08

I use this name for everything now. Yup. Light and master all came from the previous. And 08 came from . . . . Well . . . If you look sideways at the eight and zero, it looks like a face.

And I have a 5th one where I'm too lazy to tell you because it also reveals my name to you, although some of you already know. Accidentally. >_>

05/08/08 + Recent Blog: Digital Nightmare Ch.1

SilverFx : *scratchhead* I think I've explained SilverFx before but nevermind~ ^^; Was supposed to be SilverFox, as ganked off my good friend's LaserTag pseudonym, but then there was already someone in Maple with that, so I just removed the 'O' as according to plan B cause I thought it'd be a good joke based off functions [f(x)] which were giving me a loooot of trouble in school (blah, differentiation) back when I started the game.

So then. All the MMOrpgs I've played have a first character of SilverFx. ^^; Which somehow quickly morphs into strange variations like Sil, Silsil, Fx, Sliver, Wil, Silsilmuffins, and most recently, SilverPig. (Don't laugh. >.> ) But I suppose it's due to my penchant of nicknaming others, so what goes around comes around ^^;

Under Maple, I evolved a separate IGN that I used outside Maple as well: Gastropoda. Came to me when I was studying for the Biology Olympics three whole years ago, which I thought it amusingly ironic if I should run around with Gastropoda murdering snails. And there you have it, my baby frozen escargot.

Then there's my MSN nick: dreamspeaker_jt. So, I created this email account back when I was young,. . . oh dear, six years ago. -.- (ARGH OLD). And back then I was embarking on my still-ongoing journey through the fantasy genre, and I picked up this series of books about. . . unicorns. Ye-ah. All beautiful and mystical and heroic in their aid to restore some magical land; nothing like that to stir the young impressionable mind.
Then the nearly-most powerful of them all was the Dreamspeaker, who was incidentally my-then-favourite-colour-purple in colour. So I ganked that when I needed a IGN for Neopets (yes, I played that), added my initials to avoid the ridiculous numbering the suggested IGNs had, and subsequently used it for a lot of other things until one online form told me that 'This is too long, gtfo.' >>;

Then I switched somewhat to candlemas. I have no idea if there are wiccan influences to this name, which to my horror seemed to be so after Googling it. But well, it was a name of a churchmouse in this little book I had read, and I thought it was cute, so I just used it in response to the above online form. This nick's mostly for personal sites, much like how SilverFx is for all them MMOrpg (sites), so yeah. >.>

The Zh came from my own name, as I also have a Zh in my last name.
Then, I also made names for suitable stuff as well, for instance,
My Crossbowman: HapiTrigger.
Somewhat like that.
The Z in Zhlon also came from her last name as well. I guess she copied my H bit (Even though she signed up here earlier than me), and the Lon I have no idea.
